IPC Welcomes a New Member

Crittenton Hospital Medical Center, Rochester, Michigan, recently joined the IPC. Crittenton is a 290 bed acute care health care facility providing a full continuum of clinical programs nationally ranked for quality and excellence. They are an owner-member of Premier, IPC's national GPO partner, and have joined the IPC to benefit from its successful volume aggregation activities.

Riverside Medical Center Exceeds Its Initial Savings Goal

Riverside Medical Center, a 300-bed hospital in Kankakee, IL, has reported implemented savings of more than $500,000 through their membership in the Illinois Purchasing Collaborative (IPC) and Premier, Inc. They started with the IPC/Premier in November 2008.

Bill Douglas, CFO and SVP, Financial Services, Riverside Medical Center, says it was a great decision to convert to the IPC/Premier program.

"The conversion to IPC/Premier from VHA was flawless," said Douglas. "We achieved the expected savings and much more." According to Douglas, IPC's engagement with Riverside did not end at implementation. The IPC staff continuously works with department directors and managers to review supply chain spend and utilization.

Douglas suggests that if a hospital's current GPO is not continuously engaging your organization, understanding your supply chain operations, or helping you improve, then you should take a serious look at IPC/Premier.

Dave Legris, Director of Materials Management, also spoke recently about Riverside's decision to change GPO relationships.
