IPC Welcomes Touchette Regional Hospital and Roseland Community Hospital
Touchette Regional Hospital, Centreville, and Roseland Community Hospital, Chicago, are the newest Illinois Hospital Association members to join the IPC. Both are not-for-profit, acute care hospitals.
Touchette is located in Southwest Illinois and has 111 beds. They are converting from their previous group purchasing organization to IPC and Premier, Inc., IPC's national partner.
Roseland Community Hospital, with 100 beds, is already affiliated with Premier, but, will now be sponsored by the IPC. Both Roseland and Touchette will take advantage of IPC's collaborative model that engages volume aggregation to negotiate improved supply chain pricing for its membership.
With the addition of Touchette and Roseland, there are now twenty-nine (29) hospitals participating in the IPC.

Riverside Medical Center Exceeds Its Initial Savings Goal
Riverside Medical Center, a 300-bed hospital in Kankakee, IL, has reported implemented savings of more than $500,000 through their membership in the Illinois Purchasing Collaborative (IPC) and Premier, Inc. They started with the IPC/Premier in November 2008.
Bill Douglas, CFO and SVP, Financial Services, Riverside Medical Center, says it was a great decision to convert to the IPC/Premier program.
"The conversion to IPC/Premier from VHA was flawless," said Douglas. "We achieved the expected savings and much more." According to Douglas, IPC's engagement with Riverside did not end at implementation. The IPC staff continuously works with department directors and managers to review supply chain spend and utilization.
Douglas suggests that if a hospital's current GPO is not continuously engaging your organization, understanding your supply chain operations, or helping you improve, then you should take a serious look at IPC/Premier.
Dave Legris, Director of Materials Management, also spoke recently about Riverside's decision to change GPO relationships. "The savings results we have achieved so far have justified our decision to join the IPC/Premier," said Legris. Click here to read more about Riverside's successful conversion.
